the Friends of Fort Trumbull will once again welcome Rick Spencer and Dawn Indermuehle as the Friends conclude their 2024 Speakers Series. Rick and Dawn will be performing Songs of the Baby Boom: American Post War Pop Music.
This program will include songs that were popular in New London during the period from 1950-1965. These are the songs that would have been heard from the radios of cars driving through New London neighborhoods and from jukeboxes in local establishments where young people gathered.
This is the era of most of us! Hope the members will make a special effort to attend. Invite a neighbor. It should be a fun evening. The public is also warmly invited.
The concert will take place at Fort Trumbull in the Conference Center behind the Main building. Rick and Dawn are recognized internationally for their work developing and presenting theme-based historic music programs in the American folk and popular music traditions. Their presentations are well-researched, informative and highly entertaining.
